I can’t lie.  During the disquieting Obama years, I found myself further distressed by the fact that my 7th District US Representative, Rob Woodall, did very little, in my opinion, to resist the 44th President’s efforts to turn America into a third world country and destroy the US Constitution domestically, while executing illegal regime change operations across the world in countries such as Ukraine, Libya and Syria.  I remember attending an open forum and asking Congressman Woodall why he did nothing visibly to resist Obama’s policies. He responded that the “Article 1 Congress” was powerless to resist the “Article 2 President” from doing anything he wanted to do, and that “we,” the American people, were complicit with Obama’s actions by electing him .  I did not buy that then, and Woodall’s statement has proven false noting the extent that Democrats in Congress have successfully resisted the initiatives of President Trump over the first two years of his presidency....

When for the first time in history the Speaker of the House failed to honor America’s President to visit the House Chamber to offer his appraisal of the state of the American union, I decided that responsibility must fall upon anyone who might possess an opinion of that condition, and also the opportunity to share it.  Since I have both, of sorts, perhaps you will indulge my poor judgments for a short duration. Now any attempt to describe the state of a “union,” necessarily implies a union exists.  Well, does it?  What is a “union” anyway?  In mathematics a union is that part of a set of objects common among two or more sets.  In politics, however, instead of objects, we might think of common ideas, viewpoints and intentions.  And instead of sets, we might talk of political groups.  So if a political union really exists, certain members attributed to one of those political groups must share some degree of uniformity of thought with members of others....

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer want you to believe that their disagreement with President Trump’s proposal to build a wall across the border with Mexico is about money.  It’s too expensive.  Chuck and Nancy are just protecting the taxpayers.  But don’t you recall?  When they knew the votes were not there to make it law, the outspoken stars of the Chuck and Nancy Show at one time supported the idea.  Now, everyone has a right to change their minds, don’t they?  Of course they do.  So Chuck and Nancy just changed their minds.  Right? While everything else you hear in the news has been happening, in the background Trump has been dealing with a dying world trading platform, the globalist’s petrodollar system, which since the ‘70’s has financed the US trade deficit by ever-increasing American debt. I do not believe one can adequately understand the Bible simply by reading it.  Now reading is a fine start.  But until one casts the face value of biblical expressions into the physical world, and deeply considers all that bounces back, frankly, pondering the Bible is largely an academic undertaking.  Don’t get me wrong.  Yes, read the Bible.  Read it to your kids.  Go to church and take them with you.  Provide children an academic foundation for expanding their understanding later on.  But just expect that any higher meaning the Bible offers will only arise from a spiritual understanding, founded in one’s unique life experiences and relationship with God, not a mental one based solely on academic study.  And most kids and many adults are not ready to understand deep, spiritual wisdom, just saying.  And to receive spiritual wisdom, of course one must engage the spirit.  But doing so while earning a living among life’s distracti...

Last week President Trump announced an impending pullout of American forces from Syria.  Now recall, the only supposed reason for US boots in Syria has been to fight ISIS.  But ISIS is now destroyed. Even so, members of both parties in Congress, and the MSM are in a dither because of the pullout.  Obviously, the purpose those ditherers had for US boots in Syria was not simply to fight ISIS.   So to understand what this is really all about, let’s take a thumbnail retrospect of the last 20 years of US involvement in Iraq and Syria. I have been a student of American politics for over a half century.  And it shames me to say that until the financial crisis of 2009, I was clueless regarding what was really happening politically right in front of my eyes, like, frankly, most remain today.  Sure, I stayed informed, had my favorite news shows like anybody else.  So until that crisis occurred, I took all the DC actors seriously.  I just thought many of them were stupid.  They were stupid because they said stupid things, held stupid policy positions, then changed to different stupid policy positions and tried to explain how they had “always been consistent.”  The financial crisis finally taught me a lesson.  I did my homework, opened my mind.  As I expanded my perspective, my paradigm shifted.  I began to see much more clearly. If you follow this column, you may remember an article I wrote last January entitled, “Trump Declares National Emergency, MSM Ignores.” In that article I informed you that one month earlier, on December 21, 2017, President Trump signed an executive order declaring a national state of emergency.  That executive order is one based on a finding that, “serious human rights abuse and corruption around the world” constitute an “unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.”  And for that reason, President Trump invoked certain powers granted by Congress to deal with emergencies, powers that give him an array of tools to manage the circumstances the order describes. Did you see it?  Did you see President Trump’s retweet last week?  I don’t know how many among this readership keep up with those kinds of things, so I will tell you that last week President Trump retweeted a meme depicting the likes of numerous notables behind bars.  Among those notables are individuals by the names Obama, Hillary, Podesta, Comey, Lynch, Holder, Clapper, even Mueller and Rosenstein.  And the caption on the meme reads, “Now that Russia collusion is a proven lie, when do the trials for treason begin?”  So let’s look at what Trump is saying here.  He is telling us that there will come a time in the short future when the Russian collusion theory being used by those individuals and their political cousins to protect themselves, will be proven beyond doubt to be a lie.  And then he is telling us that once that occurs, those responsible will be charged with treason.  Well, isn’t that exactly what I told you back in September in my artic...
